Soooo... Yeah. While everyone was working on their Superfly entries. I was consumed with inspiration to work on my LaLD GT3 Entry. I just couldn’t get inspired to work on anything for Superfly. But, customize a prius? Oh hell yeah!

This Prius started off as a run of the mill Green RHD Taxi that I scored at Dollar General about a month ago. I have a few beat up F1 cars that I scored at Yard Sales. One of them was a Toyota F1 Hotwheels from McDonalds. After an afternoon with the Dremel hacking and sanding, the two Toyotas became one. I used JB weld to join the two and also used some of it to create an “aero bulge” on the roof that later would be sanded down to make for a seamless transition to the rear wing. Once everything looked decent I put a couple coats of primer on it and then grabbed a can of black spray paint and gave it a menacing paintjob.

A couple weeks ago I had a massive Tomica diecast score at a yard sale and picked up the lovely John Player Special. Inspiration struck when I was here on LaLD thinking about the GT3 and I looked at my Tomicas next to my computer desk. In my deranged mind... “John Prius Special” was born. I went back to work built some custom axles to use Porsche Outlaw wheels on this beast. I removed most of the rear seats and cargo area to install a roll-bar. My wife said that I should add a driver (lol) So, I added a little pilot to make her happy. Some gold accents and details were added. Car number was printed with a P-Touch labeler and circular-ized* with a hole punch.

*circular-ized is likely not a real word. I made it up.

Overall, I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I might order some 1:64 scale JPS decals to add sponsors to it. But, I’m fence sitting on that. I just finished two other custom projects (finally) and I have a ton more in the works. I might just leave this Prius as-is because it looks pretty nice without sponsors. Thanks for looking! I hope to see more GT3 entries here on LaLD.
