Whilst looking through the pegs at a local store today, I found something I don’t find that often.

A Japanese sports car. Yeah, strangely enough I almost never find Japanese cars made by hot wheels, which is sad. I’d love to get a Toyota 2000 GT but it seems fate has other plans.

Anyway, getting back on topic, we have a Datsun 240z in a really sexy black with blue and gold racing stripes, complete with gold rims. Going by the number and accompanying logos on the side of the car, I’d guess this is a racing or rally car. I can’t speak to the practicality of having gold rims on a car like this, but we’ll let it slide.

Also, I don’t think I’ve ever had another model with a blue interior, so this is pretty unique. The model is a left-hand drive which is accurate given the fact that Datsuns were made for export. So all details so far check out.

Of course this representing a Japanese car from the 60’s the rear looks sufficiently boxy and the double exhaust is a nice touch which they could have otherwise completely omitted and I wouldn’t have noticed.

In general, I really like this deco on the 240z. The number and the logos (I can’t tell if they’re supposed to be sponsorship logos) make me think of rally cars and hopefully this will help set the tone for some of the other things I’m gonna look at later in the week.
