No.8 has made its way to the stable. I think I’m starting to like the GT-R just a little bit, ya know?
This is AUTOart’s 1/18 Nissan GT-R (R35) with optional Matte Black wheels and also the eighth R35 in my 1/18 collection. Every time I think I have enough of these, another one pops up on eBay at a killer price that no sane mind can say no to. And this was a total steal. $120 shipped for a model that’s worth $300? That’s a heist.
Let’s set the record straight: matte black wheels are ugly AF. I can’t comprehend how it’s become such a popular trend today. But its these same wheels that make this model so valuable. AUTOart produced a limited amount of these near the end of their R35 GT-R production run. By limited, I mean somewhere around 1500 or 2000 pieces, hardly so when compared to production numbers from other manufacturers. In any case, this is one of the most highly-sought-after models of the R35, and I couldn’t be any happier to welcome it to my herd of Godzillas.
I’ve done way too many R35 model reviews in the past, so that won’t be necessary today.
