This review is long overdue. I got this 1:72 Honda City in an epic IHWEP with Jobjoris earlier this year. I had misplaced this car in my boxes of diecasts and just finally re-discovered it today. Time for a photo shoot!
F-Toys isn’t exactly known for their quality. Since this is from series 1 I am willing to cut them a bit of slack. It’s not like many companies are willing to make small versions of the cute little oddity known as the Honda City.
At first glance, this car looks really nice. The proportions are good and the cast-in details are really sharp (mainly because this is a plastic car). Some of the additional details are a bit rough. The tampos are off by a bit (see door handles) The red on the grille is a bit off from the main body color. It also appears to have gotten in an accident... the rear bumper is a bit warped and rubbing the passenger’s side tire.
It also must have been an off day at the factory... one taillight is on the car upside down. lol
So, I am just going to pretend this little Honda City has about 120K miles on the odometer and all the imperfections make more sense.
The included Motocompo is FAN-TAS-TIC and great diorama fodder. Also included is a Japanese woman fully clothed and not being attacked by a Tentacle beast. Mind Blown! She seems to be in a state of mid-excitement. Perhaps she is dazzled by the Motocompo? (I made the same expression). Or maybe she just discovered that some knucklehead ran into the back of her beloved Honda City.
Maybe she is about to sneeze? Nevermind, I am over-thinking this.
tentacles warts I am really happy to have this car. The Honda City is one of my absolute favorite vehicles ever made. An extra thank you to Jobjoris for sending this over to me.
