LH44! #blessed

The 2014 Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 W05 Hybrid is the car that began the Merc juggernaut of the current hybrid era. The bare bones of this car was so good, the subsequent years’ machines were more like evolutions rather than revolutions. ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ must have been Merc’s mantra. The 2015, ‘16’ and ‘17 cars were equally as good that after Hamilton won the ‘14 drivers’ championship, the team were so superior to the rest of the field that in the following years ONLY Lewis and (former teammate) Nico Rosberg have won the drivers’ championships since (Lewis in the 2014, 2015, and 2017 seasons & Nico during the 2016 season). As for the constructors’ championships, they too were all swept up by the team from Brackley! All four years’ worth of trophies for them. IN A ROW! Watching the Silver Arrows dominate the sport year in year out feels just like watching the Ferrari / Michael Schumacher dominance from 2000-2004 all over again.....

Anyways, I digress. This lovely replica of the 2014 car is by Bburago in 1/32 scale. A bit big in scale as compared to the majority of my car collection, not that I’m complaining. It is a splendid model for not much money! Detailing is decent, car shape and wings are correct, and the decals are spot-on.

Truly a must-have for F1 diecast collecting fans. Even if you aren’t a Merc or Lewis fan.
