Big things with little cars
Big things with little cars

This haul was from some years ago but with the growing interest of JDM cars, I thought this would be interesting to many in LaLD. (Throwback Thursday?)

Some where in September '12, I came across listings of vintage Tomica models starting at a very low price with no reserve. I thought I'd bid on some cars and and see if I'll land myself with any of the cars on auction.

I wasn't too concerned about the lack of their original boxes, which would bring up their value significantly. Since I've never had a diecast of early Japanese cars, I thought this would be the time to acquire some. Furthermore, they looked really great from the seller's pictures.
These Tomicas were from a time when Japan hadn't outsourced their manufacturing to China, "Made in Japan" Tomicas are like Redlines is to Hot Wheels - they are coveted by collectors. Can this be even more JDM?

Shipping took almost a month to reach and boy, I almost forgot I won the auctions!

Welcome to your new home! Yes, I dived straight for the Kenmeri Skyline. Guilty as charged. The seller's pictures didn't lie, these cars look great!

I believe these were released in the '70s, and for their age, they look outstanding. Tomica definitely took pride in adding details to their castings from the get-go. I'm glad I got them, this was a time when JDM cars were gaining fame and Tomicas from this era were getting more sought after.
