This Is a recent Pickup of mine (technically a gift from my mum), Its a Volvo wagon from the late 70s early 80s.
Here’s some knowledge of what the name 245 DL means:
- 2 meant that it was apart of the 200 series, like the Volvo 240.
- 4 meant that this car has a 4 cylinder engine.
- 5 means it’s a Station wagon as in 5 doors.
- DL is the Trim level(DeLuxe) so this is the poverty pack model, which is sort of strange for a diecast brand to do.
This Majorette casting was produced from 1976 - 1983. so this is a pretty old casting. I have no idea if they will ever do another Volvo 240 in their lineup as a more modern 240 would be cool to see.
The model has A metal base with headlights built into the base, an opening tailgate and pretty stiff suspension due to the suspension wire being made of a thicker gauge compared to the newer softer suspension of the current lineup.
Is it pretty obvious that this car has a towbar?
I found a random quote that somehow relates to this casting.
“[I] have a 1982 Volvo 245DL wagon with 298,968 miles on it. The car runs great when I can get it started.”
