Sorry...Anyway this is the last of the casts from the trip to heaven. It’s also a purchase made for nostalgic reasons and another I coverted as a child. I’m pretty sure it was the same friend who’s older brother had awesome taste in diecast back in the 1970's, he also had the matchbox field gun. It’s the functionality that I loved about this cast and the fact the cast looks like a nice model of a DB5 with a quick glance. You soon notice some strange aspects and once they show their purpose all is forgiven, at least that’s how I view it.
This is a recent release of a classic cast, I was told it came out earlier this year. Apparently there is a gold version and that is available with every case of 50 standard models. Although it’s no longer made in the UK and is a Chinese built model I can’t really fault it and I’d be surprised if there’s any real issues compared with an original. Anyway that’s enough typing. Here’s some pictures of it, the packaging alone is worth the $47 AUD cost of ownership.
To get the car out there’s a strange arrangement that involves sliding the inner box out to the right. This causes a thin folder to slide out in the opposite direction granting access to a credit card sized collector card or license to kill*.
Enough of this packaging, freedom!
All details are very well done. Bond is behind the wheel and his faceless killer passenger is riding shotgun, actually he has a pistol aimed at the hero.
So the first feature I’ll feature is the bullet proof rear window shield.
It pops up with a light touch of the dual exhaust tips.
Now the front has some items from Q of course. Telescopic bumper over riders and of course those dual machine guns hidden behind the front parking lights.
The levers below the sill on the passenger side operate the machine gun/over riders, those are both controled by the front lever. The rear lever opens the sunroof, rapidly. This is to allow the quick removal of unwanted guests that would like to cause harm to the driver.
Goodbye Mr Bond...
Ok, thanks for looking.
Oh yeah there was another special agent feature I didn’t point out, did you catch it?
