It’s been a long time since I posted a Micro Monday. The good news is that things are finally starting to come out of storage, and while I’m not yet ready to set up to take proper photographs to really do this thing yet, the time for that is getting nearer.

What I thought was also good news, was the impending relaunch of the Micro Machines brand. I nearly pee’d myself when I first heard the news, and was eagerly awaiting their release this fall.

Then a friend of mine texted me a few days ago. He had found them at Target, and he sent me a picture of the fire station set he’d bought. His quote about them was something to the effect of, “Well, I’m kind of glad I don’t have to collect these now.”

Tonight I was out for a scooter ride on an unseasonably chilly night, and I realized I was near Target. I pulled in, donned my mask and went looking for them. I had to see them in person. Were they really as bad as they looked in that picture he texted me?

No.

They’re worse.

Look at this generic unlicensed crap.

Seriously Micro Machines? This is the best you could do?

What kind of video game knock-off crap is this? The paint isn’t even shiny. Back in the day, there were a lot of knock-off Micro Machines. These are roughly the same quality. They’ve managed to knock off themselves.

Whoever is responsible for this abomination, should hang their heads in shame as they are escorted from the building.

I have to agree with my friend. At least I don’t need to collect these now.
