The story goes as follows; my grandparents were filling in for some friends at a special invite-only breakfast at the Mission BBQ restaurant. At this special breakfast they picked up this casting, and I should add that there was no gift shop at this location. So it’s like a secret casting.
Secondly, this casting is from a company I’ve never heard of before, called “Industrial Diecast Design” (based in Florida). They have literally no online presence or website; but I did find out they have one sole employee. The casting is also designed in the USA, but crafted in China. The restaurant itself is based around honoring veterans.
The casting itself is pretty awesome. It’s based off of a 1:1 2.5 ton truck which has a barbecue in the bed. If you google “Mission BBQ truck”, you’ll see it.
Unfortunately the black color does not do it justice in these pics; it really is a neat casting. Six wheels, plus a spare on the drivers side..
The casting is made up of metal and plastic pieces, with the base being metal and the bed being plastic. The cool part is that you wouldn’t know it unless you picked it up and felt it. The black color streamlines the different materials to make it seem pretty cohesive.
The barbecue details are epic.
Wait, didn’t I have another 2.5 ton truck?
Well guys, it seems that these two should go on an adventure; am I right?
