A little trip to Tesco last week proved to be rather worthwhile as I managed to snag a couple of cars I overlooked before, for whatever reason. One of them is this sweet 1971 Chevrolet El Camino.
It was the only unit left, alongside the much loved K&N Mustang. It truly is a beautiful representation of the real car.
Nonetheless, things didn't stay the same for this baby right here. Out came the nail polish remover, cotton buds and Sharpies...
This is the result. Tampos removed, paint flaws repaired and wheels painted over. Exactly as I envisioned!
I didn't want this car to turn out looking like a brand new garage queen, hence the painted over bumpers. The matte effect adds to the 'used and abused' feel to it all. I also painted the cab black but unfortunately forgot to take a picture of it!
Ominous as can be.
Thank you for reading and have a great week ahead.
