Have you ever gone to look at some cars and for some reason felt the models available did not suit your taste and left it there and the next day you ran back to purchase them but it’s no where to be found? That’s exactly what happened to me. I saw a HW Pop culture Aston Martin based on the Skyfall movie and thought that I did not need it as I already had the 50th anniversary Goldfinger Corgi with working parts and this one does not even have an ejector seat. Or seeing something like a Matchbox Jeep Cherokee when there were plenty and left them there only to disappear the next day.
S0 off to hunting I go almost everyday trying to locate these beauties and more. I stop at a walmart and saw 3 M2 drivers with a different looking color on the package. It was their special edition frozen black pearl series. I’m not even aware of them but the color appealed to me. The cars however were just not ones I was interested in except possibly the ‘66 Dodge Charger. I left them there concentrating on my missed opportunities. None were found. After a couple of days I went back and 2 of the Black pearl models are gone and what was left was the one I was considering so I took this as a sign of not repeating the same mistake. So below is what I acquired.
3 days later I decided to visit several stores and plan my trip accordingly. My first stop is Walmart. Check and found there hanging on the pegs is the HW Pop culture 60's Aston Martin. I quickly pick it up and checked it off my list.
Next stop, CVS. I wanted to see if the 1/24 Chevy truck that I have been eyeing is still there or going to be another missed opportunity. I remember seeing a couple of them before. Well just like the black pearl there it is still waiting for me although only one left. I grab and plan to do some possible customizing on it so hopefully everything goes well as I’m pretty new to it.
Next stop Target. Nothing new on the Hot Wheels and no M2. Went to Walgreen, Walmart and another Walgreen and still nothing. Got to TRU and returned some toys that I did not need and check their inventory. To my surprised I found another Matchbox Willys and a couple of other Hot wheels. First time I found the Willys 4x4 is in TRU also.
May used these in a future trade bait. For those having done this before in this site I would appreciate any insights on rules or unwritten rules to make a successful trade.
So after this I went to another Walmart. I finally found the new jeep cherokee and they have 2 different colors as well. They may have restock in this specific store as I have been here several times previously but they were no where to be found. Checked it off my list.
As a bonus I also found the M2 blue Ford Truck which has been released for a while but never seen in my area.
I was getting tired at this point so decided to head for home. On my way I did one last stop at a Rite aid and finally found this.
Thanks to another member here who posted about finding this beauty in Rite aid, I was curious to know if our Rite aid also has this in stock. I’ve known them to stock Wellys brand and since buying it online with shipping will be a bit pricey I was patiently waiting and hoping for years and it finally paid off. It must have not stayed on the shelf pretty long as the mirror and wipers were still intact. With rear opening part and sliding door and not even considered a high end brand, their quality can’t be beat.
