Now that I’ve introduced myself, I’ll let you have a look at a couple other projects I have in the works.
I was digging through my loose diecast cars when I found two I had forgotten about.
One is the Tomica Shiden 77 BMW.
The car was originally a pale orange color but had been painted blue and green long before I got it in a grab bag at a flea market.
I plan to recreate the livery the actual car raced with, if I can find someone to make the decals for me. (hint, hint to my fellow diecast customizers).
The second came from the same grab bag. I believe it is also a Tomica, although the base only says “Lancia” and “made in Hong Kong”. ^Thanks to Small Scale Sydney, the car has been identified as a Welly. I plan to return it to its former glory with the Alitalia inspired livery it was produced with. (Again, I may need the community’s help with the graphics).
Both cars required complete media blasting but just a little filing and sanding to smooth some edges and hide some mold lines.
Both cars were painted semi-gloss white and will be finished with a gloss clear coat after the decals are applied.
