Apparently, the stuff of legends. If the background isn’t foreshadowing enough...
...I’ll provide you with a clue.
This should be enough...
Okay. clears throat. Laaaaaddddiiiiieeeesssss aaaaaannnd gentlemennnnnn, I present to you the hottest Hot Wheels set this year, Japan Historics.
Part of the new Car Culture line, this set has 5 models, all wearing livery that further enunciates their roots. Japan Historics brings with it an all-new wheel design and of course, the hot new debutant that everyone’s been talking about.
Let’s get down to business. This is part one of my two-part in depth review.
As you guys have undoubtedly realised, one of the selling points of this line is the fact that the card looks absolutely gorgeous. Personally, I haven’t seen better card art in a Hot Wheels line in a long time.
There’s just so much to look at and enjoy. The first thing that comes to mind is how wonderful the car itself looks. Details such as switched on headlights really make the cards pop.
And then you look at the details. The grey hue of the background is a great use of colour - essentially decluttering the card. The car’s colours shine and you are sure to not miss it from a distance.
Little details all around, such as the sakura and villages in the background set the tone beautifully. You know it’s Japan.
At the back, you’ll find the usual - the list of cars in the series.
So this is your first look at the Japan Historics lines. What do you think of it so far?
And in case you were wondering what part two is about...
Stay tuned to LaLD and as usual, Viva La LaLD!
