Many cars can be police cars, but only one car is THE police car. And that car is the Chevrolet Caprice 9C1. Yes the Crown Victoria outlasted it, but it the Caprice is king. Need proof? At my towns Labor Day Parade the County Sheriff’s parade car was the Caprice.

Back to the model, it is by UT and is one of my favorites because of the Chicago PD livery. While the livery is correct, it’s a bit unusual in that typically “Chicago Police” is a single line under the blue stripe. The light at is incorrect, which is odd since UT made the correct one. The model is from the mid 90s, so you get stubs on the headlights and doglegs on the front doors only as the rear doors and trunk are sealed.

The interior is rather spartan, and looks as plasticky as the real one. Underhood detail is ok, and UT did make sure to detail the 9C1-specific green silicone hoses.

If you want a Caprice cop car, UT is the only game in town. They made several department liveries and there’s a number of decal sets available too.
