Big things with little cars

Was stunned last week to see the entire Gran Turismo premium series hanging on the pegs at my Walmart. At $6 per it was an easy choice not to grab all of them, so I went with the one I’ve been waiting for since the series was announced.

It’s nice to finally have a premium C7.R with Real Riders and a metal base. The new base improves the dreaded track-ready, up-sloped chin and hides the squish face well enough. I think the dark red paint helps too.

Here it is compared to the original (and my mildly customized) C7.R.

I kind of have mixed feelings about the cast anyway. I really hope Greenlight gets the license to do a C7.R in the future. Their C6.R casting was perfect.

Here is the C7.R with Hot Wheels’ take on the C6.R (clearly from an era before HW cared about being track-ready).

I love the Corvette Racing team’s yellow livery, but I’m also a big fan of red Corvettes. I think this shade works quite well on this cast.
