.....asks the waiter at Denny’s. “Sunny-side up,” I reply. Oh wait, we’re talking about cars here?

Then here’s my answer:

It’s the 996-generation Porsche 911 Turbo, more fondly known as the “runny-egg” 911. I’m not sure how the first person came up with the “runny egg” descriptor (for the record, they look more like jellybeans or kidneys to me), but this is the Carrera that gets trashed on the most often because of its quirky looks. There’s a small contingent here on LaLD who absolutely adore it though, myself included, so this post (as well as the next couple) is for you, SN210, and the former DTG11, who’s too busy street racing his little Acura to care about what us lamer folks have to say about our little immobile cars. #Team996

The model here is by Maisto AUTOart and is one of a handful of 996 variants they produced back in the glory days. My favorite features of this Turbo are the futuristic, propeller-like wheels, which are also shared with the GT2 and 4S trim levels. The larger vents up front give it a more aggressive look than standard 911's, and the little ducktail is your most obvious cue that this is a Turbo.

The only other thing I’d like to add about this model is that I have nothing else to add that you haven’t already heard from our fellow AUTOart enthusiasts. Therefore, enjoy the orange-y photos if your eyes can handle them and be thankful that I didn’t saturate them any further.
