First up, I confess that I rescued this one from its existence as a peg warmer at my local TRU. A 2011 Honda Civic is by itself not much of an eye catcher, especially if pitched against the usual Greenlight fare of muscle Cars and Police Cruisers. And then the colour - grey. Why grey? Why not silver, or black, or yellow or red? These are the colours I Civics have around here. Grey? Never seen one like that.
But once I had a closer look at it, I realised that this was a nice casting of a car I didn't have in my collection. And the price seemed right - five Aussie Dollars - or about two regular HotWheels around here.
And at that price, you really can't complain about the quality or level of detail. It is well put together, the paint is evenly applied (if a bit thick for my liking) and it sports decent wheels. It would have looked better if those wheels would fill out the fenders a bit more, especially at the front, but there are no obvious issues that put me off,
What is visible of the interior is nicely detailed, it features cast in rear view mirrors (meaning they won't fall off) and all the tampos are applied properly and neatly.
I especially like that VTEC decal on the side, it gives the appropriate boy racer look.
Another minor gripe is that it looks fairly large for a 1/64 - but no more so than most Matchbox or Majorette.
So overall, I think this one is a winner for the price. I'm now actually glad I bought it, despite being pretty lukewarm about it initially. Just the colour...grey...why?
