Lesney Matchbox time again, today we look at a forward control truck that some here will no doubt like. This is Matchbox 60a, the Morris J2 Pickup. This casting entered the range in late 1958, and enjoyed a long run, remaining until early 1966. It is a neat little truck:

There is ample detail as expected from a Matchbox of this golden age. I estimate scale to be around 1:60. This casting had numerous variations related to cast and wheels, but all were blue with a similar decal. It looks realistic from all angles:

Front and rear are just the same. No interior, no glazing, never had either - the play value is the truck bed:

This particular example features silver wheels, a favorite wheel type of mine, and is lucky to live in its original C box. With these details, it was likely produced in 1961:

I am definitely glad to have this, it is probably the scarcer variety of this casting, and it is a charming little thing:
