It’s been way too long since I did a custom... Here’s how I chopped up last year’s hit casting into the mad modded Porsche we all love.
Not long after I got my hands on a blue 934 RSR I got the idea to chop the fenders off. After way too many hours playing Forza Horizon 2, I knew I had found my spirit animal: the RUF Yellowbird!
I actually started this way back in early April but life and messy paint jobs kept me from finishing it. I decided I liked the orange car better, so the blue, as pretty as it is, would get sent to the custom farm.
I ground off some of the racing bumps on the hood and cut the fender flares off with a Dremel.
On top of that, I had to fill in the two giant brake ducts and I also filed back the lower lip on the front bumper to get the look I wanted.
The old fashion 5-spokes are getting some love because they look nearly identical to what the Yellowbird wears.
I hand painted the Naca ducts on the rear fenders. I thought about trying to cut them out to make them functional, but I’m afraid I need much more practice with the Dremel!
So there it is! My own Hot Wheels Yellowbird.
