I was eventually going to do a feature on this piece anyways so why jump right into the theme and submit it for the Running of the Bulls now?

This is the Lamborghini Aventador SV in Verde Ithica from Tarmac Works’ more affordable Global:64 series. I picked it up Daboxtoys a few months ago in Hong Kong (the store’s owner is also a founder of Tarmac Works) for around the price of a Tomica Premium model (~$8). The signature Giallo Orion yellow was sold out but I’m equally satisfied with green.

The base can be unscrewed. Plastic base but such a gorgeous metal body that I have more appreciation for after taking it apart. No brakes for the wheels but beautiful rims nonetheless.

Has a bit of interior detail too with the painted seats. Comes with working suspension too. Doesn’t roll like Hot Wheels but the wheels are still smooth enough to roll.

But this car is for display. I had to pull the suspension spring out because some angles just look awfully out of proportion.

Much better.

In comparison to Tomica Premium, I really like the design. Looks more realistic and less like a toy. Even has metal etched emblem decals. But quality isn’t as consistent. The right part of my hard-plastic rear wing is bent down a bit and I had to clean up some of the paint with a permanent marker. One of the rim emblem decals was torn but that was an easy fix by flipping the wheels/axle in order to only display the good side. Other than that, it’s a good value for the price. Just wish the Global:64 series wasn’t limited to just two models and the box wasn’t generic for all models.

Bonus photo: There’s bulls’ blood running in this Aventador’s little brother too. This is the other Global:64 casting.
