This model has been a strong want of mine for ages, but the ones I came across were in bad shape without box, so I waited. The 750il is the ultimate piece for most BMW Schabak collectors, and usually go for around Ā£30-Ā£50. The Bordeaux is one of the most coveted models, especially in the dealer packaging. So what to do? Head over to eBay.de to browse! I came across this with 20 minutes left and won it for 28 euros.

Beautiful glass BMW roundel and paint finish. All the lights are individually moulded and the chrome effect plastic has stood up over time

Fully detailed wheels and tires. These Type 3 wheels are my favourite E32 wheels.

There is some alignment issues with the boot lid, which I can fix later, but the lensing is absolutely amazing on the back as well.

This is the level of detail Iā€™m talking about. The rear brake light and indicator are separately moulded and held on to the body with friction.

Fairly detailed interior with correct steering wheel

A metal M70B50. The metal engines dull over time, so I took this out and polished it.

The bonnet has these weird streaks running along it, only visible from certain angles

Here is the original package. The Schabakā€™s usually have a plastic insert to hold the car, but this being the top of the range model has a felt lined holder, with an extra piece to support the model as it is so heavy. Due to the age of the model, the felt strands did end up on the model and took me about an hour to clean off.

It is great to own a piece that represents the pinnacle of BMW from 1986/7 - 1994, although some of you may know of the only E32 above it, the 767i, the Goldfish, with a V16!
