Here is a new Greenlight Hitch and Tow trailer. Ok, some of you may say that it’s not really new as this has been available in the Hitch and Tow series and as a single but....
we’re not talking about 1/64 here but a 1/24 scale model. Presenting the Shasta 15' Airflyte by Greenlight.
I was surprised to see this in ToysRus while browsing the die cast area as it was placed beneath the shelves and unless I missed it, I did not hear nor seen any blog or forums about it.
Let’s talk about the packaging. Just like most 1/24 scale Greenlight also used a box but instead of using screws underneath to hold this in place, Greenlight used clear plastic for padding that’s enclosed on the model and could be retracted to easily removed the model. I love it.
This thing is heavy as the body is made of metal. The base however is made of plastic.
The detail on this is pretty good.
Unlike the 1/64, this one has one opening feature.
Hard to photograph but their is a full detailed interior as you may have already seen on the previous picture. It would have been nice if the windows are removal so you can see the interior clearly.
And just like the 1/64 it includes an adjustable trailer jack. It was difficult to rotate the jack but with a little WD40 it did the trick.
I would rate this 5 out of 5 for detail, 4.3 out of 5 for play value as even though the model seems solid, it has only one opening feature and some parts may not withstand rough play. I am also giving it 5 out of 5 in quality as no QC issues that I can find.
Greenlight did provide a hitch but I’m not sure whether this is a sign of a possible issuance of a Greenlight 1/24 truck that will fit this or more of a find your own truck and glue this thing on it. Sigh... oh well, time to check on my stack of trucks.
