This is the Minichamps 1/43 scale Lamborghini LM002.

The LM002 is a peculiar vehicle. Intially designed for military use in the 1980's, no military ever ended up actually ordering any. Why Lamborghini was trying to build a military truck in the first place I do not know, but here we are.

Why weren’t militaries interested in this vehicle? Perhaps they were dissuaded by the idea of a truck with a Countach V12 shoehorned under to bonnet. Yep, that’s right- this box on wheels has one of the most exotic motors the ‘80s had to offer under the hood.

At the end of the day, Lamborghini had this design and no customers. To get something out of it, they attempted to give it a luxuriously interior and added it to their road car range. A total of 301 were built. Yep, that’s it.

This truck was...not great, as you might expect considering how it came to be. It’s far more memorable for its weirdness and rarity than anything else.
