First of all: Apologies. I’m sorry I skipped Spaghetti Sunday last week. I won’t bother you with the reason, let’s just say I was a bit busy. So here’s another go. Another Lancia.

Because I must admit: I love Lancia. Or maybe I should say I loved the marque as it seems to be lost completely. I ran into the rebadged Chrysler 300 today, the one Lancia dares to call the Thema. Lancia is dead. But that’s for another Spaghetti Sunday in which I’ll show the last chance FIAT had to revive the brand decently.

This week’s Lancia you all recognize. And it’s actually a 1/43-replica of the last 1/1 Lancia I drove in not that long ago. A truly tired example of the breed that one was though. As is this 1/43 Del Prado I got at a yard sale. It’s missing quite some pieces (mirrors, lights) but as it was the exact same color/wheels as the one I checked out I had to get it.

But still, underneath all it’s failures and flaws, that 1/1 still gave me the feeling it was special. Maybe even the feeling I was special myself. That special feeling certainly was the reason my first car was a Lancia as well: A champagne-metallic Beta HPE 2000. But that, as well, is something for another Spaghetti Sunday.

I won’t bother you with facts like how successful this thing was in Rallying and stuff as that’s common knowledge on these premises. And as it’s Sunday I won’t bother you anymore anyway and leave you with some pictures.

Man do I love it’s bulky design. The Del Prado wasn’t flawless when it was new either but these are cheap so it’s forgiven. Questo è tutto! Goditi il fine settimana, ciao tutti!
