Got my secret super gift so quickly I thought it was a mistake lol (I didn’t even know who my Secret Super giftee was yet!). The box coming from Amazon and Amazon - Japan no less had me really confused. I’d heard about people getting rogue packages, but since this was diecast I was pretty sure it was a LaLD member.

My Secret Super was on it!!

I think we can probably guess who my Secret Super is based on a previous post ;)

Anyways, these are actually my first Tomica cars. I’ve been a bit envious of everyone on here with their Tomicas so I’m glad to be welcomed into the club haha.

Now I’m not super knowledgeable about Japanese motorsport, so this was a great excuse to do some research.

First up is the Lexus IS-F. This one even has opening doors!

The IS-F CCS-R had its weight dropped by 314kg for racing. That’s massive! Lexus wound up racing it up Pikes Peak, the 24 hours of Nurburgring, and 25 hours of Thunderhill, among others. Pretty slick!

Next we have the WRX STi NBR Challenge. Right off the bat, this thing looks mean. Now the NBR stands for Nurburgring, so you can see what this thing was built for.

The car is such a boss that it managed to get its class win at the Nurburgring 24 this year! It was quite an exciting race this year too with weather being a huge factor.

Next up we have the Subaru BRZ R&D Sport. Holy crap this thing is sweet.

This car managed 6th in the 2018 Super GT series. This is definitely the BRZ everyone wanted to have for the road. That bodykit is awesome.

Finally, my favorite. I mean the Alitalia Lancia Stratos HF is just so iconic.

This specific car represents the Monte Carlo rally winner of 1977. Now Lancia did not win the manufacturer’s WRC championship that year, but the driver of this car did win the Driver’s Cup (more cars finishing give the manufacturer’s more points through the races).

Thanks to my Secret Super for the awesome cars! It’s not like I needed another racing series to get excited about, but I think you’ve got me hooked on Super GT. I know there’s been great stuff there through the years.

Yay LaLD!
