It’s been a busy day, and I almost forgot to post a pic. So here’s my last minute improv!
Because how can you have this pair and not take a picture of them together?
Finally got my Car Culture set today. It arrived the day I left for Japan and has been sitting in my apartment office for 2 weeks, so this is a bit late. These are the three cars I’m keeping from the set.
Welcome to The Big Twenty as we explore on die cast larger than 1/43. Tomica did it and now Hot Wheels, Matchbox and even M2 join the band in producing JDM and US specs Japanese cars. Now here’s the 1973 Datsun 510 on a not so new company that came into the scene with their own brand called JDM Tuners.
Found this one on the pegs at Walmart over the weekend. Better late than never!
Refreshed the 510 page just for the hell of it and got this. Then it proceeded to go through an endless loop of redirecting itself back to this same page until I closed the tab. Tried going to my bookmark for the homepage and got the same loop again. This whole RLC 510 debacle seems to have (hopefully, but not likely)…
Kept refreshing the page starting at 11:59 and “Add to cart” never popped up. It didn’t say “Sold Out” either though. Called Mattel’s customer support line and they said it was indeed sold out. I didn’t realize there were 7k+ RLC members... Oh well. I shouldn’t have gotten my hopes up.
First it’s TLV. Now it’s M2's turn with their JDM.
After coming back from vacation, 3 packages arrived 2 days in a row and 2 of them from Japan and one within the US. My 101st post will be the ones from Japan.
If you’ve ever read my full screenname, you’ll know I’m a big Nissan guy. So when M2 announced their Auto-Japan series, obviously I go excited. I don’t normally collect M2, so this was a nice way to add some to my collection.
Has anyone had issues with sending in the correct cardbacks for the K-Day Datsun 510 mail-in? I was going through my cardbacks last night to get 20 together to mail off and found that none of them match the “accepted” case codes listed in the rules for the mail-in. Even the ones that I got AT K-Day. For those of you…
Just in case you all had forgotten, or somehow hand’t heard the news, tomorrow is the first K-Mart Hot Wheels Collector’s Day (K-Day) event of 2017, and a good way to get the 20 cards needed for the Datsun 510 mail-in!
In this series I will showcase DLM cars ranging within the 1/64 and smaller. Most of us know that there are already several blogs about the popular 510 specially from Hot Wheels. I for one had written a few made by Tomica based on their stock model. I also had one from Jada as well. But for some reason at least in the…
In this series I will showcase DLM cars ranging within the 1/64 and smaller. Most of you have probably seen the Datsun Bluebird 510 from Hot Wheels but do you know that Jada also did one after Hot Wheels released theirs for a while? For my 27th model for Land of the Rising Sun Day here’s the ‘71 Datsun 510 from Jada.
If you missed the pre-order window, haven’t found these at Walmart/grocery stores, or don’t want to pay scalpers a bounty for the Japan Historics, get thee to your local Walgreens. I grabbed the wagon to DLM and left the Kenmeri behind it. Good luck!

My Secret Super finally arrived!!!! Apparently I never gave Frosted my updated address, so it went to my old place. Luckily, the Post Office caught it and got it to me at my new house! And boy am I glad they did.... Let’s open it up and see what we’ve got here.
