This is a 1/18 True Scale Miniatures McLaren F1 GTR. It is a replica of the overall winner of the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans. Notable is the fact that this car defeated a field of prototypes, one of only two times a production based GT car has done so at Le Mans. The car was driven by Yannick Dalmas, Massanori Sekiya,…
My admiration for this model grows by the day.
This is my 1/64 Kyosho McLaren F1 GTR, chassis #17R. And it’s meeting its 1/1 self for the first time! This F1 GTR is owned by BMW North America. It is currently on display down here in South Carolina at the BMW Car Club of America Foundation, along with a number of significant BMWs. Why is there a McLaren in the mix?…
I just got these three 1/43rd F1 GTRs and thought I’d share. I know it’s been an F1-heavy day, but honestly, can you ever have too much?
This car won the 1995 24 Hr of Le Mans, as we all know, and have all read about ad nauseam, but it’s just such a beast of a car I couldn’t help but pull it out.
For Woking Wednesday, I thought it’d be appropriate to show this Minichamps Le Mans McLaren F1 GTR ‘car no. 30', considering that Le Mans is nearing, and that I’ve been seeing LOTS of McLaren GTR posts here on LaLD. I don’t want to miss out on the fun too, so here’s mine.
MACCA MONDAY! The F1 GTR. One of HW’s better castings.
My birthday present arrived Friday night! And it was amazing. Getting a big ol’ box with a Model Citizen Diecast label on it is always a great experience, from the packaging to the hand-written note from Mr. CitizenPatrick himself, and this one did not disappoint.
I hope you guys aren’t sick of this F1 GTR yet, but I promise that this is the last post about it for a bit. Just wanted to show it in finished state!
Remember that blue Cars of the Decades McLaren F1 from last Thursday that I was going to customize? There is a funny story there.
This is True Scale Model’s 1/18 scale McLaren F1 GTR. I recently ordered it from Model Citizen Diecast- Patrick really has a great operation going over there!
I’m a relative late bloomer when it comes to appreciating the McLaren F1, but this particular car has quickly turned into my favorite race car of all time.
I’ve been a lurker here for a couple of months now having discovered this site via Instagram and Sn210 was kind enough to get me on board here today. I live in India and am a newbie collector. I (try to) collect cars that have interesting stories associated with them and post my photos of them on Instagram (my handle…
A few of you already have this model from Kyosho. I held out for a while, then finally gave in a few weeks ago when I found one for a great price from a seller in Japan. Boy am I glad I did!!
I’ve had this one in primer for a few months now. Most of my attention was spent on my diorama, but I did a batch of detailing on Saturday and felt like finishing this McLaren up yesterday. The weather was good, so I was able to paint it, detail it, and clear-coat it yesterday afternoon.
I'm not going to lie to you guys. I have recently (thanks a LOT, t_s!!) become obsessed with the McLaren F1. I never quite grasped it's full potential or legacy as a super car until somewhere last year, and still didn't really see its beauty until even more recently.
