Watching a race from the sidelines is never as fun as being in the driver’s seat, and with that obvious wisdom in mind, Mattel has partnered with GoPro to create a new camera-compatible Hot Wheels car that lets kids and grownups experience what it’s like to careen down those iconic orange plastic tracks. It’s also the…
So the latest order from Hobbylink Japan showed up today. Reasons for this order include a long time wish list item (the Lexus), a price markdown (the Lancia) and plain what-if (the Abarth, which I hope to talk about later and explain this).
I never knew Matchbox came out with these Globe Travelers. There was a Land rover, Jeep, Audi R8, Lambo police, and the Ford GT40. This one is the best looking and my racing collection was missing a Gulf livery and GT40.
Slowly, but steadily, the Altaya Lendas Brasileiras do Automobilismo (Brazilian Motorsports Legends) collection is getting to the newstands on my state. So I finally grabbed this awesome Brabham, driven by José Carlos Pace.
I saw recently a TV spot for a new DeAgostini collection of Brazilian Stock Car racecars in 1/43 scale. They always do a special price for the first number, so how could I not buy Barrichello’s car? For R$14,90, or around $10 USD, this was a deal!!!
I’ll be posting some photos over on Oppo from The Mitty! I had a blast down at Road Atlanta on Friday watching the vintage racing. Great stuff! Anyway, check out the first post here:
I wasn’t really too anxious to get this casting, but it has grown on me, it will join my other Datsun/Nissan castings. I think I might end up detailing the head and taillights at some point, too bad there isn’t room to lower the thing. The tampos are pretty cool, the best part is the legible Fairlady 2000 script…
Game over folks. I’m calling it now. Your 2017 Hot Wheels cast of the year.
Now I just have to wait for all 47.35GB of it to install.
Just a quick pic of the Porsche shelf in my display case.
Many pictures, few words.
Racing your Hot Wheels cars usually requires a good imagination, a makeshift track, and a lot of DIY sound effects. But with the new Hot Wheels AI race system, you can finally race your friends, or a computer opponent, on a real track, without needing a smartphone—or a license.
The real car
I can’t believe I’ve missed nearly a month of LaLD goodness, but it has been a non-stop summer. I did check in enough to see my legacy has lived on, and I am eager to get back to 3D printing. Who’s ready for the biggest weekend in motorsports?!
I don’t have a lot of details on this truck by Racing Champions, I liked the way it looked, I bought it, plain and simple, the low stance and the wheels are great, it just looks fast. It would be a neat little truck to reproduce full size for daily driving.
In case you’re not a member or missed it yesterday...
RACING MINI BY MATCHBOX- One of my favorite castings of all time.
A few of you already have this model from Kyosho. I held out for a while, then finally gave in a few weeks ago when I found one for a great price from a seller in Japan. Boy am I glad I did!!
