Just one photo of this one. I wasn’t convinced, when I first saw pictures. When I was handed a couple by my buddy, they looked really good irl(:
I had it all planned out... photos outside, rescue mission, smashed cars, everything! Alas, Chicago hast dampened mine royal enthusiasm with thee sun’s refusal to show its face. So, I told the towing company to come to the DoD Garage and let’s do the best we can:D The zamac Porsche is for reference.
If you’ve ever read my full screenname, you’ll know I’m a big Nissan guy. So when M2 announced their Auto-Japan series, obviously I go excited. I don’t normally collect M2, so this was a nice way to add some to my collection.
Here we have a Majorette McLaren 675LT. I knew this cast was good, but once I stripped the paint off it became great!!!! The details are amazing front to back. I couldn’t repaint over those details. Also my detail skills are lacking so it probably wouldn’t have been pretty. So I decided to polish it out. This cast was…
I helped out a fellow collector (@socaldiecast562 on IG) with a peg find last month, and suggested that if he was willing, I’d rather have a custom ‘69 Mustang Boss 302 than boring PayPal. Well, to say these turned out better than expected would be an understatement. I can’t thank him enough for sending these my way.
Some Zamacs! Up for trade, the Dodge box is a bit bent.
I’m not a fan of the Corvette Stingray cast Hot Wheels
launched in 1976. With no hood or door cutouts and muted styling curves, it
looks like it was based on a distant photo of the C3’s rubber-bumper refresh.
Just a quick little detail job on the fantastic Porsche GT3 RS casting. I stripped it and it just looked too good in bare metal that I just kept it that way. I didn’t even change the wheels or body.
But it was just so striking in Zamac form.
So, I guess I just got randomly inspired and built this car over about a few days of occasional work. It’s the new Golf Gti from euro style. The cast was left robbed of its wheels and had some terrible casting issues. 60% of the rear window was covered with thin metal from the cast leaking. All of the other widows had…
I finally got a few minutes tonight to pull out all my HAWLs and HWEPs from the last month or so. Many thanks to MustangFan and The Bell King for the HWEPS! We’ll start with those first.
I tried two-part Gorilla Glue epoxy and also cyanoacrylate, both with pitiful results. What’s the trick?
The wife took the kids to go visit her parents last week. I couldn’t take the time off since we’re already going on vacation next week, so I stayed behind to mind the house. To keep myself entertained, I decided to call up a few of my cousins who are home from college for the summer and hang out. We spent a TON of…
I didn’t get a chance to post this up when it came in, but here it is now. Two ZAMACs and a Redline! Thanks Plasticprints!
They also had the Greenwood Corvette and the Great Gatspeed mixed in.
Going on vacation soon so needed to get travel supplies, what better place than Walmart right?
Woohoo! Thank you to Plasticprints for the awesome ZAMACs and Redline! Excellent HWEP sir.
Man, I had quite a good and unexpected day today. Technically it started last night, but that’s besides the point. First thing I picked up was a new GL H&T F-150 and flatbed trailer. This is the second H&T I have, and it came in much better condition than the first (NYPD Ram).
Thanks to Herr Tinfoil, something I shared with him alone in a discussion has leaked: I got my hands on some paint stripper. And first thing I had to do was test it on something I aquired in a big online buy of MajoKit stuff. Which came with some good (Majorette, one of which has an LaLD-UK destination already!) as…
