Teutonic Tuesday: BMW F11 550i Touring 1:18

Hi guys, this is a piece that I think you’ll enjoy. I remember telling Phillip I’d review this model for him ages ago, as it was mentioned in another post, but I completely forgot until I took this out of the box again. This is one of my OEM BMW models, made by Norev and bought in a BMW dealer. It is a really great model in both features and quality, how you in enjoy!

Beautiful blue paint. Kind of looks like Interlagos Blue to me, but I don’t think that was offered on the F11

Nicely moulded wheels. What you’ll notice is that this model has the metal BMW roundels (similar to what I use for customs/restorations) straight out of the box.

Great lenses on this model, although the kidneys are too chrome for me, but they are accurate

This isn’t a 525, but the 550 badge looked nothing like the actual one, so I replaced it with a metal 525i one.

This is the kind of detail there is on this model.

This is one of the tricks of the model, a split tailgate! The glass and boot lid can be raised separately or together, and the hinges are strong enough to support them

Nice replication of the twin turbo V8, with another metal emblem

Another interior shot. It seems weird to add so much detail, but leave the iDrive screen as black plastic.

As I said, this is OEM, BMW seem to add sparkles to certain packaging for their merchandise, I just love the stamped roundel, as that was how they used to replicate it on keys and other things.
