“SALE!” As consumers, we are trained to salivate like Pavlov’s dog when we hear or see the word. If you’re getting something you want at a reduced price, then that response is deserved. But sometimes that response can work against you. Case in point, these 2 Minichamps Audi TTs. Now, I actually do like the TT, but when I think of 2-seat sporty (with a ‘y’, not an ‘s’) car, the TT doesn’t come to mind, namely because I forgot that Audi still made it.

So that meant that these Minichamps models weren’t high on my want list, even when they were marked down to around $40. But then that magical sale word appeared, and I was powerless to resist. But how good is a deal if you end up with something you didn’t quite want? I’m inclined to say not very, but these $32 models are as good or better than most of my other recent Minichamps models. The typical Minichamps qualities are there; good paint, an accurate and to scale model, and a good level of detail. And, unlike some of their other recent models, you also get carpet! One nice feature that doesn’t get discussed much is that Minichamps fitted the steering axis inside the wheel, so you get a more realistic look with the wheels turned, and a larger steer radius. You can still find these out there in the $40-50 range, so if you like the TT, or just like a deal, you’ll like these.
