Teutonic Tuesday with the Zuffenhausen twins

A couple of weeks ago, I showed off my Kinsmart Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Soon after I posted, I realized that I actually had another in a smaller scale from Majorette. I thought I’ll show off the differences between them and so here goes!

First up the color. Only on a side by side comparison, I realized that the Majorette 911 GT3 RS is more orange than the Kinsmart one

The Majorette model also has the GT3 RS tamps above both real wheel arches, where as the Kinsmart has the tampo only on the left side.

Then there are differences in the ride heights too. May be it is the lip spoilers and the side skirts on the Kinsmart that give the effect or may be it is the Majorette’s wheels. But it is true that the Kinsmart rides lower and may be more closer to reality than the Majorette version.

Is it possible that this Majorette, from the 2014 Racing series, might be based on a older era 911 than the Kinsmart which is of recent vintage? I have not been able to find out as yet.

As I scrambled to find out which model year Porsche this Majorette model was based on, I found that there is a HW model from the 2013 main line. And even that is closer to the Kinsmart model with lip spoilers and side skirts which are missing from the Majorette.

So there could just be model year differences, but I still love both these castings. I am thinking I could add some mudflaps to the Majorette and see if it can pass off as a off roader. Hmmm. Now that’s a thought.
