Sme days I think to myself, don’t bother doing any hunting today. It’ll be a bust. You won’t find anything. Today was one of those days. I got myself up to head to the car show today, which was fun as usual (I only took pictures of one car today as it was a lot of the usual guys and I just hung out and talked with my friends instead of snapping a ton of pics).
S I was done with the car show and this was when I thought I should just go home. But I carried on and headed to the flea market where I found these gems
Alright. The MBX Mustang was 60%off and in better condition than the one I have so score! Done with the flea market, I decided to hit the Hobby Lobby nearby. Well, I have to say that GreenLight’s quality is dropping again.
Ssomebody forgot to paint this one. Only green on the bottom and wheels. Decorations were added so you’d think somebody would have caught that in process. 🤣🤣. Thanks Hobby Lobby!
By this time, I was pretty hungry so I stopped by the house to grab a bite to eat, and you’ve all been there. But planted on the couch, full belly. Don’t want to go out again but it’s a beautiful day. So I headed out to the antique mall even though the comfort levels were very high. Glad I did go because I found these.
I know, right?!? Who expects to find 2003 Treasure Hunts for a dollar each among the other regular cars? What a heck of a day! Seriously though, time to head home. But first, I want to stop by Pep Boys for some paint stripper and to check on the diecast situation because you never know. So along with the paint stripper, I found this guy.
because, of course Pep Boys will still have 50th anniversary cars. The guy at the register tries to scan me out. Paint stripper goes through fine. The Hot Wheels, on the other hand, is not. He tries to input every code on the card back and scanned it three different times. Nothing. Won’t scan. We had also been talking about his ‘85 C-10 pickup and the 350 motor he put in it and the 4 speed tranny swap. Awesome truck, imo. So he is done with this hassle of scanning and throws me a number for the total, I pay, thank him and I’m on my way to head home. I check the receipt though. I’m thinking he’s charged me $1.00 or $1.50.
Nope. He threw that thing in for free! A Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary ‘55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser for free! Considering this is the very first one I’ve seen on a peg (they all got snatched the second they hit the docks, it seems).
S to recap, car show, flea market hawl with a Rolomatics MBX Mustang and some old school Hot Wheels, a raw GreenLight Green Machine Charger Daytona, a couple of older Treasure Hunts for peg price, and a free Gasser! *mic drop.
