That’s a loooooong name but a monster like Godzilla deserves every letter.

This is the fourth R33 GT-R to grace my 1/18-scale shelf and it was an impluse purchase I made a couple months back. KC Auto had one example left of this model on sale for $99 with free shipping, so I did the proverbial *shrug* followed by the “why not?” and hit the right buttons to get this beast home. I seem to have a knack for taking all of their clearanced-out last-stock items (see: Millennium Jade R34 NISMO). I never planned on getting the LM Limited; I already have the V-Spec by AUTOart in Midnight Purple aka the best color ever, and this one is barely any different. But, like I said, the price was right and I was more than happy to accomodate yet another variant of the R33 into my collection.

So here we have the GT-R in the LM Limited exclusive Championship Blue paint color. I’ve read around various forums and people just seem to love this color. I guess they’re envisioning it as the iconic Bayside Blue that the R34 donned. It looks great, don’t get me wrong, but I’ll take Purple, White, and maybe even Silver over this color.

Naturally, you’re probably wondering how this differs from the standard R33. Let me give you some examples...

That is all. I’m not even joking.

But as a diehard R33 fan, there’s nothing wrong with having multiples. I still have the NISMO LM (by Otto) to track down. And who knows, maybe I’ll start fiending for color variants as well.
