Did you know that this casting is the ONLY casting HW has ever done of a Lexus? While searching for a good entry for LaLD Car Week, I found this (and it’s metallic burgundy twin) in storage. Took some photos of the purple one before deciding to go with a different entry. First hitting the market in 1993 in metallic black, there have been 10 colors all but 2 being metallic. The most common is the metallic burgundy having been on 9 different versions (all based on which wheels were used.)
This is the only version that used the metallic purple paint. The nice clean look is only available with the metallic paints. The only tampo you’ll find covering these sparkles is the HW logo on the back bumper (except the metallic gold that has red, black, and silver stripes down the side.)
Hope you enjoyed it!
