Today was a good day. The major snow storm we were supposed to get has turned out to be just another snow storm. That meant I could drive around in my Mustang and not worry about the roads too much. First off, I stopped by Hobby Lobby to see if anything new was hanging on the pegs. Sure enough...
My usual antique mall haunt ended up being a bust, so I hit the road to check out a new place I’d found out about. Lol and behold, the trip was worth it.
I then hit up the other antique mall to grab something for The Bell King.
But I also came across this for him, which is good because I will now keep be able to keep mine.
By the time I got home, I was ready to just hang out. But I checked the mailbox and found a package from The Bell King. Oooh I know this is going to be good.
The Beatles! A total of four marked off, just need the elusive White Album Hiway Haulers to complete the set. Plasticprints II is hooking me up on that one so I’ll do a post later on that whole series (for good reason).
A beautiful 70 Mustang in a blue that is reminiscent of the Cool Classics HW. Love it!
Vintage Racing goodness! I’ve got to admit that of all the series Hot Wheels has ever put out, the VR series is one of my absolute favorites. HW does some good stuff and the Car Culture series they’ve been running these days is awesome, but the VR series is just a bit above, imho. Now one thing I wasn’t expecting when I got this box, was the inclusion of the Parnelli Jones Mustang! RAOK! Thanks TBK! Holy crap!
One thing that was odd was the sticker on the AAR Cudas. The name on the right side is a sticker label, so I had to know what the deal was.
Turns out that for some reason, they used Darrell Waltrips Mercury Cyclone cards. Most of the Cudas I’ve seen have the sticker so it must have been a mind change or a mess up at the factory. Either way, mystery sort of solved.
And finally, one big RAOK.
More of an inside joke than anything, this is a prized addition to my collection. Thank you The Bell King! Such an amazing box. And for a little more Silverado goodness, I’ll use it to introduce my work in progress diorama set up.
It’s coming along and for a bunch of card stock, the house looks really good.
Thanks for looking and happy collecting!
