Or is it Testarossa Tuesday? Maybe.

Alrighty. For those who are familiar (that set includes most, if not all LaLDers I presume) with Tomica Premium, you know that they have a habit of nailing 3 - inch scale cars (with the horrid exception of wheels). That is an easy explanation to why the excitement was running high when the rumour mills scooped that TP may do a Ferrari, and that being a Testarossa made it all the better. I mean yes, an F40, or 250GTO (or 288 GTO, oh pleaaaaaaaase) could have been better, but I will never refuse a TP Testarossa. So here I go to Hobby Link and place a preorder like a couple of decades back (no really, the preorder took ages to materialize as batch after batch was gobbled by earlier preorders apparently), and here it is. At last!

Mind you, the price I paid for this was pretty good, when you see the prices on eBay. This TP is approaching Kyosho levels of pricing by reputed sellers, and limited releases are approaching ridiculous prices.

I guess I have a thing for the Testarossa, primarily owing to the classic sharp ‚Äė80's design. Another reason is the MBX Testarossa that I played with as a little kid. That was the first time I read the word ‚ÄúTestarossa‚ÄĚ (embossed in the chassis). The Tessa survived my intense torturing that ended up ‚Äúkilling‚ÄĚ almost all the toys I had back then, but sadly its whereabouts are not known now. :(

Incidentally, I came across the hit TV show Miami Vice through the Testarossa as well. There is a wonderful compilation clip of the Tessa’s guest appearance in the show, if you want to have a look. The first edition special release of the TP Tessa was in white, and the particular car in question is also white. Coincidence, maybe.

My particular example did not have the usual perfect finish.
That red blip at the bottom operates the pop-ups.

Tomica’s execution is pretty decent here as well. The only running nag being the awful wheels. The pop - up headlights are better kept retracted, although it does save the rest of the car by avoiding a useless opening door / engine cover (on second thoughts, an opening engine cover could have been nice lol).

Overall, it is a pretty good job. Looking forward to the future releases (which could include the 288 GTO, please Tomica.. Please.. xD).

Thanks for stopping by! Have an awesome week ahead!
