Tonka makes toys and that's about it imo. They aren't particularly collectible and are actually rather crude, basic trucks. But Tonka released 2 trucks for the Holiday season. A dump truck and a fire engine. Let's start with the model that was much more abundant at the Target I purchased these from, the dump truck.
See what I mean? Not a whole lot of detail going on here. Enough to let you know that it's supposed to be a vintage truck but nothing more.
Some minor tampos let you know that this is a Holiday Tonka truck.
The body and the dump bin are both metal. Nice that the bins lifts up. Windows are an opaque plastic so no interior.
The tires also seem to be a piece of plastic seperate from the wheel.
This thing REALLY feels like a bargain price model you might see in a dollar store.
Onto the model that the Target I found these at only had 3 of, the fire engine.
This truck is much more detailed with various fire equipment.
Still no light tampos but I suppose that that is to be expected.
You can see here where the molding was cut a bit. Not precision built trucks. And these cost, as near as makes no difference, 4 bucks. Thats basically AutoWorld/Greenlight/M2 money. Tonka has a reputation for being durable trucks but the price on these is just too high really.
