One of the neighboring towns had a Town Wide Yard Sale yesterday. As you can imagine, I was licking my chops hoping for miles and miles of diecast bins to sift through. Sadly, despite there being 50 plus yard sale to visit, I only encountered a grand total of 20 cars. Much sad.
But, in a bizarre twist of fate, we did find an excellent 1:64 Maisto version of our beloved Scion xB (Toyota Bb). Exact color and everything. That certainly made my wife and I smile! It’s in perfect shape and the paintjob is glorious.
One lady was selling a bunch of ragged/dirty matchbox cars. I snagged the Ford Ltds and trucks for future customs. Somehow I still managed to find a couple of Majorettes in a bin full of action figures. I think I already have the Audi somewhere. The Clown Van is both frightening and amusing.
Toward the end of the day we were pretty wiped out. My main scores were mostly electronics for cheap (decent laptop for $10 with a dead hard drive, broken DSLR camera for $2 to flip on ebay, Nice small LCD TV for $20 that I can hook up to my Sega Dreamcast, an Awsome HP Digital Frame for $5, and... glorious glorious Ties for work) The very last sale we stopped at had a bin full of Pens in a free pile. one of the pens was a pullback cadillac style surf car. I had one when I was a kid. Pretty spiffy. I’ll take it to work for giggles!
