Another fun score from this weekends flea market run was this Matchbox Unimog.
From doing a bit of research it was from a set with a trailer (which I also recall seeing in the bin I found this in, but didn’t know they were a set at the time). There is supposed to be a box in the beds of both that I didn’t see, but I’m still pleased with the purchase (especially at 35 cents…) It’s a nice solid metal model, and the deep textured plow is a nice touch, even if the chassis and plow is one big piece of chunky orange plastic.
I also stopped on Friday at a somewhat local asian marketplace that sells some Tomicas, and while I didn’t find anything too desirable, any Tomicas in the US are a rarity so I grabbed these two along with some others.
The green one is a “Dual Mode Vehicle”, meaning it is a road vehicle and also has train track steel wheels, which are represented in the chassis. It pulls a somewhat comically plastic train car with some chunky material in it. Overall, the model is surprisingly plastic-y for a Tomica, but its still fun (and clearly the Unimog set from above from MB and this one share some heritage).
The orange one is a bit more detailed, slightly less plastic-y, and features a moveable bed. I like this one.
