I’ve known $15 Maistos had hit Costco and Sam’s for a while, but after dtg’s post last night I was on a mission to get me some. Problem is I don’t have a membership, and the only thing I need in wholesale volume are diecasts...

Luckily, there’s a Costco and Sam’s alternative around here: Bj’s. I don’t think they’re as big as the other two, but lucky for me there’s one across town, and they have one-day passes, and they have Maisto’s!

Non-members have to pay a 15% surcharge, so my $15 models became $18 1/18’s. Still an awesome deal!

First one I grabbed was this sweet 240Z, the only one in the lot! It’s not normally one I’d add to my collection, but can’t go wrong for $18!

Next up was a Shelby Series 1. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite, but I’ve loved these since they came out. I’ve had a 1/18 on my radar for a while, but I could never come across a color combo that I liked. Blue stripes on white is classic Shelby, it’s perfect! The wheels are wobbly as Hell, but it’ll look great on the shelf.

I’ve always liked the pre-facelift Gallardos, and it doesn’t get any better than the Superleggera. I think Dalahobbies showed us this one in lime green, but all Bj’s had was black on black. Works for me!

Lastly, I grabbed a 5th gen Camaro. I was obsessed with these when they came out, and I got to take a ride in one with red jewel paint just like this one. It was a toss up between this and a dark blue, but that ride along was an awesome memory.

No shame digging through the pallet either. I was moving the cases around and stacking up the cars I left behind. I must have been entertaining on the security cameras. I sadly left behind a SRT Viper, a Diablo SV, a Merc SL63, and a Chrysler Crossfire. I kind of really wished I got the Crossfire, but it was pretty buried in the pile and I had to go full contortionist under the shelving unit...
