Big things with little cars
Big things with little cars

I’ve always had an on and off kinda thing for police cars mainly because they have this unique quality that makes them unique and similar at the same time. Ever since I got back into collecting recently, I have not bought a police car... Until now, in fact, I bought two.

Presenting the Lancer Evo X British police car and the Renault Megane Sport Gendarmerie patrol car.

Now I know the Gendarmerie aren’t technically police, but they loosely fit in with the theme, so we’re going with it.

Both models were produced by tomica and are really gorgeous looking cars.

Various things really impress me, the mirrored writing on the Evo X for one was surprisingly nice touch. The blue and yellow checkered tampo is really vibrant and stands out from the silver base color. The doors open as well which is always nice to see.

The Megane on the other hand really stands out in a collection of mostly white and silver patrol cars and while there isn’t really a gimmick to this model, it still looks really nice thanks to the yellow-striped tampos on the front and rear of the car.

In short this is pretty much the very reason why I love tomica as I stated in my last post, great amounts of detail at a reasonable price.

This may very well be a new collection to start up considering the paint schemes on police cars of various countries and how they give each car a personality within an otherwise fairly uniform appearance.
