What Is It Sunday?

I know that’s not the kind of alliteration that usually headlines these kinds of posts, but I couldn’t wait for What-Is-It-Wednesday.
And, it’s my turn to share an airplane.
I picked this up almost 20 years ago, in an antique/consignment shop while on vacation in Maine. It’s slush metal, or pot metal, or whatever, and it’s cast.
I’ve been told it’s the Spirit of St Louis, but I’ve never found another one like it in the almost two decades I’ve had it. Every now and then I do the full search online, the Google image search, all the toy airplane sites, the bay of e, but, nothing.
It measures 2-3/8” prop to tail, with a wingspan just over 2-1/4”. No marks, no numbers, no decals. It used to be painted silver, which lends credence to the Spirit of St Louis story, wheels and prop have most of their red paint left. Can anyone shed some light on it based on these hurried photos?
