This lime green butaketsu is my first taste of the immaculate selects from Ignition Model, it’s probably a natural segway from HPI scale models. HPI is still around, but it let go of its scale model wing to focus on their R/C business. Majority of these models now live on in Ignition Model, and I’d say these people are doing a great job keeping these castings alive.

I have always drooled over at their line-up and looking forward to the day when I will own one of their models. Getting hired after completing my studies was the right time to start shopping.

I was amazed the moment this Nissan Laurel was extracted from its casing. The price, the hype – it all made sense now. The paint didn’t dampen the details in the moulding, the brightwork and photo-etched decals were all aligned immaculately; it was everything I wanted. If I had not converted, I definitely am now.
