I know, I know… Technically a Lamborghini 500 GT doesn't even exist in real life, but that's where the freedom of being creative with Hot Wheels comes in, right? I thought the idea of a modernized, front engine, Grand Touring style car would be neat since Lamborghini hasn't produced anything like that since the 400 GT. I like to imagine this custom as a successor to the '66 400 GT Monza variant, but a little more beefed up with the Aventador's massive V12 mounted up front!
The process of making the 500 GT Monza Concept was actually really easy! This was my first 'Frankenstein' style custom where I took parts from 2 separate castings, the Lamborghini Estoque sedan and the Ferrari F12berlinetta. I actually originally wanted to put the F12's front end on the 4-door body of the Estoque and make a proper FF, but it came out looking…. well lets just say not right haha. Lucky for me though the Estoque's front end fit NEAR perfectly on the rear of the F12 and it looked quite lovely too!
The only problem I really had was that I could not for the life of me, decide what I wanted to do for the tail light and rear clip design. I wanted to make it so that it didn't bear any resemblance to the F12's original ass-end, but it was hard since it's still pretty distinguishable. I ended up just throwing something together which I honestly wish I took more time in doing.
This deep red paint just seemed right to me for a Lamborghini concept, kind of similar to the Aventador J, I thought. Also, the only 400 GT Monza I have seen in pictures is painted in a similar, but darker hue so that's pretty cool as well! Anyways, thanks again for checking my customs out!
