Yesterday's Hawl

Quick share of Thursday hawlage! I’m very fortunate to have a 7 days on/7 days off work schedule, so my off week is usually great hunting time. This week has been a little different, though, in that my two favorites thus far are both mail hawls.

First and foremost, this Celica with the OH5 wheel variation. I LOVE wheel variations (not “errors,” actual legit production variations), and this is one of my favorites. OH5s are some of my favorites no matter what casting they are on, and the rarity of something like this really appeals to me.

Secondly, we come to my new Supra Super TH. This car is way better in-hand than in pics. I got a great deal on this one, due to a tiny crease in the card. Silly cardboard collectors. Their loss is a DLMer’s win! DLM, FTW!

Not quite last, but probably least (honestly), is this Super Chase Mater w/Duct Tape. He has tape over his mouth, which I don’t remember happening... Maybe it was in Cars 2. Anyway, I kind of like it... I love the idea of taping Larry the Cable Guy’s mouth every time he tries to say “git ‘er duuuunnn!” However, this is not my cup of tea, and I probably should have left it for a kid to find. Though, it’s just as likely some other mid-30's man-child like myself would have grabbed it, so who knows. In any case, gotta decide whether to trade or eBay it.

The coolest find was straight-up good luck. Making a nice red wine vinaigrette for dinner (whole week off, remember... Lots of time to pretend I’m Alton Brown), I realized I had forgotten the olive oil. So another run to the store I made... And here this guy was in the checkout line.

I already had one of these tampo-less RX-7s, but I didn’t think I would ever find another one (especially after the Lamley article on tampo variations). Definitely a surprise. Again, not sure what I will do with this one, but I was super stoked to find it.

If you made it this far... Thank you for reading. Good luck out there, you guys!
