In case you didn't know, my goal is to make a 1:64 scale (S scale) diorama. The first image is the layout I'm aiming for (not to scale). The 2nd image has the board which I'm going to use as a base. I need help with figuring something.
In the 1st pic, the green around the parking lot is supposed to be raised. I plan on putting a foam there to create a difference in elevation for the scene for the curb, sidewalk, and a raised grassy area. Here is my issue, I have no idea as to what foam I should get.
I plan on cutting the foam to its desired shape (a U form), and it needs to be really thin. A curb, in 1:1 scale is 6", so in 1:64 scale it's ~ needs to be 0.09" (really thin, and I still need to do some rounding up). So I need something than will hold it's form when it is thin. It also needs to be able to be glued to the wood, have fake grass glued on it, and can be painted.
Lastly, is my idea with the foam feasible? If not, I'd love to know, so I can perhaps come up with a different solution.
